Truly Breathtaking
Feeling so much gratitude to have spent a week in this beautiful work of art, Stone Lantern. Truly breathtaking inside and out. The vision Cyndy and Keith birthed is second to none. The land was carefully considered when creating this wonderful creation; inspiring, relaxing, inviting and rejuvenating. The attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The first week of December entered with a massive rain and wind storm that was enjoyed from inside, safe and sound and warm. The large picture windows that have been strategically placed reveal beautiful views of passing storms. The kitchen was a great place to create food for memorable meals with the family and other guests. We look forward to out next visit.
Glorious Stays
What a glorious stay! Thank you dear Cyndy for sharing your vision and honoring beautiful nature from which the Stone Lantern House sprung! We enjoyed waking to the songs of eagle, exploring the little islands around and taking in the morning art at every window, breathing in Alaska air and getting to know your talented tribe. Much love and gratitude! Thank you for the gorgeous memories and the dreams of future S.Y.H. moments.
Girls Getaway!
The Stone Lantern House is absolutely stunning! What a pleasure it was to have a girls getaway at the little hidden gem! Thank you so much for making us feel welcome. We will be back for sure!
Beautiful Place!
We had an amazing time, thank you so much. Can't wait to come back to this beautiful place!
Absolutely Stunning!
The Stone Lantern House is absolutely stunning from the inside to the outside. We were amazed by the art in the house from the paintings and fish skin baskets to the ceramic sculptures of the raven and puffin. Even through the stormy weekend we were blessed with a small break in the weather to enjoy the fire pit during the full moon! Searched the beaches and found abalone shells and bird watched the birds flow with the strong gusts of wind. The sound of the pouring rain while looking out the window and sipping our morning coffee is peaceful. We made unforgettable memories and are very thankful and grateful for such a serene and beautiful place in Sitka.
Lovely Stay!
We had a lovely stay in Sitka! The beds are extremely comfortable and the views with morning coffee across the bay are unmatched
Beautiful House!
The Stone Lantern is a beautiful house. The surrounding terrain is breathtaking . This home is as inspiring as it is gorgeous. The location provided privacy with the convenience of downtown access with a quick walk. Totem park is also beautiful. This weekend, sadly short, was my husbands first weekend off training at DPS Academy. This home provided a beautiful setting for us to hideaway, unconnect and just spend much needed time together. The views are second to none. The neighbors are enjoyable as well. Planning another trip here in the near future. Love the place, will definitely be back.
Terrific House
What a terrific house, beautiful spot and amazing host! We can't wait to be back. Thank you for having us!
Wonderful New Home!
Wonderful new home. Everything was as advertised. Very clean
Piece of Heaven
This isn't just a vacation rental, it's a work of art and every detail was masterfully created with such authenticity and intention that it felt like such a special experience to stay home. My husband and I met in Sitka in 1999 and moved away the next year. We returned 20 years later to collaborate his 40th birthday and this has been the perfect place to do that. Beach fires, kayaking, wildlife watching and just resting and rejuvenating here at Stone Lantern was just what we needed. It was nice to feel out on an island and secluded, but also able to walk into town. Totem Park is just a short walk and we really enjoyed going there. We lucked out with two nice weather days and then welcomed rainy afternoons spent just enjoying the house and scenery. Watching all the bald eagle never gets old! Thank you Cyndy for making such a comfortable, welcoming home, we so enjoyed our 3 nights at Stone Lantern and hope to come back next time with friends and family to share this special place with them.
Paradise
What an amazing few days at this slice of paradise. It's offered respite and revival. Thank you for creating such an artful home and sharing it with us!
Amazing Stay!
Simply one of the most scenic places to stay in all of Sitka. What a wonderful location. The house was well-stocked and immaculate.
Owner Response
Thank you for the wonderful review! It was a pleasure hosting you!
Best Rental Experience
We're honored to be Cyndy's first renters! I must say we've rented homes around the world and this was the best rental experience we've ever had! This was our fourth trip to Alaska but our first time to Sitka and what a wonderful town with wonderful people! We enjoyed amazing hikes - Herring Cove trail and Beaver Lake one day and Verstovia Trail another day. Walking downtown with all the shops was a lot of fun too! And just hanging out at the house surrounded by water and eagles was just spectacular. The beds were so comfy, we could have stayed there all day but there was just so much to do we couldn't! Thank you for everything!
