Finn Alley Stowaway
Finn Alley Stowaway is a private in-law style suite in our historic home in downtown Sitka. The home is on a quiet street in the heart of town, just a half-block walk to Crescent Harbor and centrally located to the Sitka Fine Arts camp campus, the Sitka Sound Science Center, downtown stores and restaurants. Perfect for folks looking for a low-key getaway in Alaska's most beautiful town.
As its name might suggest, the Stowaway has a hidden feel to it. Nestled into the bottom corner of a larger 1930s clapboard house, the apartment feels discrete, and sweet. With a newly renovated bathroom, a small but efficient kitchen, and access to a sauna, the apartment is perfect for a couple or a smaller family.
You will have the entire one bedroom apartment, along with a private entrance. There are two other rentals at this location however. You will also have access to laundry facilities in the home's basement (shared with the Captain's Quarters.) There are bikes, and kayaks available for us, to explore the woods, or kayak with the whales. And a sauna to decompress afterward.

We had a great time!
We had a great time in this sweet little spot just up the hill from the harbor. Decorated with a Native theme, this little flat was just what we were looking for. It is right downtown in a pleasant older neighborhood, on a back alley that is an obvious local favorite. The spot was cozy inside, with a small efficient kitchen, a sitting area, and a back bedroom with a window onto the garden. Tasteful, completely stocked with kitchen utensils. The wine glasses and waiting bottle of wine knocked it out of the park!
Loved the Suite!
Loved this guest suite, perfect little kitchen, wonderful location, friendly and responsive host! Would definitely pick this if I'm in Sitka again!
Sweet Little Spot!
This is a sweet little spot, really close to downtown and the water. Ideal if you have a child attending the Sitka Fine Arts Camp. The space itself is cozy and cute, well furnished and stocked with supplies. Brendan was available to answer questions, and at the same time there was a lot of privacy. We would definitely stay here again!
The Stowaway is conveniently located within waking distance of downtown Sitka. It’s across the street from Cresent Harbor and very close to the Sheldon Jackson Museum. We walked to the library, concert hall, Bayview Restaurant and Fudge store. Special touches included the Sitka caramels. Just a note, if you're a light sleeper, the pipes run right next to the wall where the sofa bed is and can be distracting.
Neay & Cozy
Neat and cozy little house close to Crescent Harbor, Totem Park, and downtown Sitka. Comfortable basement apartment with everything we needed for a pleasant stay in this sweet town. Brendan and Rachel were perfect hosts. (BTW, Brendan's novel, The Alaskan Laundry, is a great read, especially while you're in Sitka. It's available on Amazon or at Old Harbor Books downtown.)
Spacious & Cozy
The Stowaway is a comfortable hideaway close to everything in Sitka. Walk to the Totem park, Sitka Fine Arts Camp, restaurants and more. Brendan was very friendly and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed but still gave us all the privacy we wanted. The space is cozy and has fun, local decor and touches.
The stowaway was the perfect spot for our quick 3 days in town...close to everything, cozy, plenty of space for two people. Very quaint and totally Sitka
