Perfect Sitka retreat
Coast Guard family who PCsd here from New Orleans, LA. We were so happy they had some availability for us shortly after our arrival. The apartment is very quaint yet there is room to spread out. The kitchen is a nice size to cook a respectable meal. There is everything you need a full fridge, oven, microwave and coffee maker. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you would ever need. As a family we were able to enjoy the fire pit one evening and did s’mores with the children. The outdoor space was an Alaskan wonderland for our girls ages 5 and 7. There was a pull out bed for the girls and plenty of Childrens tv channels to keep them happy. However, they mostly wanted to play outside. They made lots of neighborhood friends and did I say anything about the salmonberries, huckleberries, or blueberries on site? We also enjoyed the bathroom as it had a nice big shower and tub! We were sad to go but excited about our new ventures in Alaska. We felt like family when we left their property. I would recommend this over any hotel in the area if you want to get an authentic Alaskan retreat experience. Thanks Melissa and Adam we had a wonderful stay!
Cozy, Comfortable, Delightful Owners
The rental is cozy, and very clean. We were one of the first to stay after they had just finished up renovations. Really comfortable for 2 people. Little tight with 3rf person and for. Luckily for us, the 3rd person in our group was our teenage daughter, so she didn't mind sleeping on the couch, and having access to tv. There is no bedroom door. I assumed that was ordered and coming, privacy would have been nice, but not a big deal. Kitchen is stocked decently, a few big bowls and another pan or 2 would come in handy. Conveniently located. Rental unit is on first floor, you will hear sine noise from above. If you are a light sleeper, take your headset or earplugs. We would stay again if we returned. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely rental.
Thank you Danette for your kind review! We really enjoyed having you for the time that we did and were able to interact with you and your family. We appreciate the suggestions on the kitchen items and will be more than happy to implement for our next visitors. This is a wonderful rental for a couple and up to 2 younger children so we are glad that it worked well for you both and your daughter as well. You are right, a group of four adults would be tight but if you are especially looking for a comfortable place to sleep and eat during a busy fishing week it would do you justice. You are correct-a door is on its way for the bedroom this week. It’s a non-standard size apparently so we appreciate your flexibility. We hope you had a wonderful trip back home and would love to have you again!
