Nice and Clean accomodations
The cottages do their job nicely. Immpecably clean with all basic needs very well taken care of. No doubt that the space is tight but that is the nature of the concept. The only reason I could no go beyond 3 stars is because there is no bathroom sink or a good mirror for shaving or the ladies putting on their mascara. I was having a hard time shaving over the toilet looking on a rather small wall mirror. I also do not like the idea of brushing my teeth where dishes and whatever other things people may do in the kitchen sink. Again, the place was very clean which accounts for a lot. Ah, almost forgot the trundle beds. The mattresses are most definetely way above a great number of others I have slept in even fancy hotel locations. Very nice and comfy!!I am not sure we will be visiting Sitka again but if we do, The Cottages will be on our list of accommodations to consider but we will also explore other possibilities, price will probably win over other things.
Wonderful Month Long Stay
Tess is a terrific hostess!! She thought of my every need, offered more, was always available and she felt like a friend right away. The cottages are super clean and stocked w everything you need. Everything works. Perfect location for taking walks, shopping and enjoying Sitka. I hope to come back again!
My husband & I were very pleased that this cute little cottage had everything we needed & was very clean. It offered everything a hotel would offer such as several nice towels, internet access, tv, stove, microwave, fridge, dishes, pots/pans & more. The owner was very friendly. The shower was actually bigger than expected considering the size of the cottage. It was in a convenient location near beautiful Totem Park, a grocery store, and shops in the center of town. It was a reasonable rate & I would recommend it!
Great place! Great Location!
Very pleased with the cottage- well furnished, very comfortable. Great location - hope to stay there again!
Very modern and clean room with a great location convenient to downtown and main attractions. Perfect for one person, slightly crowded for two. The full kitchen and nearby grocery store make this a good choice if you're staying in Sitka more than a day or two.
Thank you for a lovely stay!I greatly enjoyed my stay at Cottages on Monastery; the cottage was clean and well-equipped and the location is excellent . . . I would highly recommend the Cottages to friends and family planning a stay in Sitka
Sweet and Charming
Although my cottage was small, it was just perfect for little old me. Two people would have to like each other A LOT. There were plenty of cooking/eating utensils and an entirely acceptable grocery store within a stone's throw. St Michael's church isn't much farther if you know the route. The other residents were extremely friendly and helpful and Tess, the manager, was awesome! She not only gave me a ride to the ferry terminal when it looked like the Shuttle Service had forgotten me, she took me to a nearby estuary nature park/historical site and waited while I took a 10-15 minute hike along the board walk to enjoy my last few minutes in Sitka.
Our daughter lives in Sitka so we will be there more often and we will stay there each time. clean kitchen was great close to everything.
Could not have been better!
My stay could not have been better, and the cottage felt like home. Ruth (and dog Chai) was the perfect host, sharing with me her deep love for the community of Sitka. The cottages on Monastery are ideal for 1-2 persons, complete with a charming and quiet integrity that larger hotel options tend to lack. It will be my top choice again when I return. What a lovely place, indeed.
Clean and Cozy!
A very clean, cozy and central place to stay -- and with good firm mattresses! We enjoyed sitting out on the little patio after a full day of sightseeing. Thanks so much.
