Thimbleberry Bay House
What sets Thimbleberry Bay House apart, is the property's perfect blend of location, seclusion, and convenience. Set on 4 acres, the log home is surrounded by forest where eagles like to glide between the trees at breathtaking speed and mountain backed waterfront. On the waterfront side, the home has an unobstructed view of whales, sea otters and sea lions that frequent the area.
The open plan of the home is ideal for entertaining and social gatherings, while also intimate enough for a couple wanting a romantic trip away. On the main level is the dining room, living room, kitchen and master bedroom.
An elegant yellow cedar bar separates the living and dining area from the fully equipped kitchen. For added convenience, staples including olive oil, flour, sugar and a variety of spices are provided to make you feel more at home during your stay.
The en-suite master bedroom has a king bed that can be set up as two extra long twins on request and a day bed that is comfortable for sleeping or just relaxing and reading a book. In addition to the antique chestnut chest of drawers, the walk-in closet provides ample storage for clothing and luggage.
A floating staircase leads to the open loft bedroom where there are two queen size beds primarily placed to take in the panoramic view of the bay. For additional guests, there is a third bedroom with a queen and a twin bed and another twin bed located in the loft alcove
The large BBQ is located on the covered porch next to the front door, to give easy access to the dining room and kitchen. Under the overhang of the house is the hot tub where you can count whale spouts while you soak. There are several trail options for exploring the property and the home’s private beach, where you can launch one of the provided kayaks and explore the bay.

Pennsylvania takes over the Thimbleberry House for an academy graduation weekend!
We have nothing to say but wonderful things about this place. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. The wood work is phenomenal, the location is perfect, the house has everything you need are just a few thoughts That come to mind. Our morning ritual was waking up and having a cup of coffee/tea and watching the whales out in the bay (this was an everyday thing). The view is something I would never be bored with simply amazing. We were even lucky enough to meet one of the owners and it was so neat to hear more about the property. Also the owners have made the place feel so cozy with small thoughtful touches that just adds to the house. I would recommend this place to anyone and if we ever visit Sitka again I know exactly where I want to stay!!
Guests that take the time to really enjoy our home and its surroundings are what really makes it all worthwhile! Hope to have you back one day!
Thank you so much to the owners of the Thimbleberry Bay house and to the group at Sitka Travel Vacation Rentals! The home is beautiful and spacious! We got in on a very late flight and were given an escort to the house and shown around the property! There were pastries and coffee for our breakfast the next morning, plenty of towels, clean and very comfy bedding, dishes, and a hot and ready hot tub maintained everyday. We felt like we were living in a post card the whole time as the view is spectacular!!! If we are ever able to travel to Sitka again, we would love to stay at Thimbleberry. Many thanks!
Love to have you back! Glad you enjoyed Thimbleberry Bay House!
Beautiful Home, Wonderful Vacation
The Thimbleberry Bay House was stunning, and wonderful place to stay while our team explored Sitka. I was traveling with my roller derby team, and the house accommodated us with ease, while also providing stunning views and a homey feel. The house is fully stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc to make it really feel like a home during your stay. I would recommend this house for any larger group -- it may be a bit too large for a group under 6.
Julie's party was a joy to have!
