What better way to see and learn about Sitka than from a private driven tour, led by a local certified Southeast Alaska naturalist with over 25-years of experience in the tourism industry? Hop in the classic Checkered cab and enjoy all the views along our 15 miles of paved road. Learn about the local Tlingit tribe and their 10,000 years of history, delve into the Russian American period, take in Castle Hill, go across the “Bridge to Somewhere” and talk about the WWII history, and learn about the local education opportunities provided in our beautiful community.

You will drive along the beautiful coast line, visit the former Alaska Pulp Mill site, and drive out to Old Sitka, the site of the first Russian occupation in Southeast Alaska. We may discuss the local economy and other Alaska subjects of interest to you! You can also stop at the Fortress of the Bear and the Alaska Raptor Center if desired, two of the most popular sites in Sitka (additional fee for entry).

This private tour will help you discover why your guide believes Sitka, the one time Paris of the Pacific, is now the Paris of Alaska.
